doily crowns are fun for dress up or even a birthday party, not to mention so easy to make that you could whip up a bunch of them in a few minutes!
8-9 inch metallic doilies
1. cut a squarish shape out of the doily... try to center the pattern on the top portion. the top arch of the doily should be the tallest and the sides a bit lower.
2. fold the doily at the two corners of the "square" to make bottom line of the doily straighter. it will still be a bit curved, but you don't want it to be so square. the easiest way to do this is to hold the ends on the doily and pull away from each other very gently. lay the crown down on a flat surface and help the folds along where they are happening.
... the fold
3. dot the folds with hot glue to secure.4. glue the straightened doily to the headband. it sits pretty much on the top of the band, but position it as close to the front as you can.
5. crown your prince or princess.
