birthday invitations

so i have been excited about invitation design lately, but have always done our personal invitations, announcements, holiday cards. recently, i was asked to do the first birthday party invitations for a dear friend. the party theme was high tea, here is what i came up with.


the first is a (hand cut) fabric applique teacup with the birthday girl's name steaming out of the cup in guache


the second is a scalloped card, with sewn oversized "teabag" filled with lavender. the tag for the teabag is the invitation for the party.

  2. WOW! As a recipient of one of these gorgeous invitations - I loved the texture! It's not every day - as a matter of fact - never before have a I received nor seen such attention to detail FOR EACH INVITATION.
